Borage: Borago officinalis
The reason I have Borage is for its use in companion planting. Companion planting is a strategy to improve your garden by having plants near each other that offer particular benefits. Borage confuses the mother moths of the tomato hornworms and manduca. Borage is thought to protect legumes, spinach, brassicas (such as cabbage) and strawberries.
Borage is also known as starflower. It has star-shaped blooms that end up blue. Bees love their blossoms. It grows well in full to partial sun. It blooms in summer and fall.
This plant is an annual and it re-seeds very well on its own.
Borage is edible. It can be eaten as a vegetable, sautéed and used in soups.
Wikipedia has a very good summary on Borage.
